Scanpan Damastahl Cooks Knife 20cm is fully forged from one piece of VG-10 Japanese Damascus steel. The origins of Damascus steel have been lost over time but archaeological finds show that this type of technology, forging and re-folding the forged steel time and again, has been in use for thousands of years. The multiple blade layers created by this method result in superior blade strength and knife edge retention and form an attractive, unique blade pattern in the process.
